Internships
NYIBC is looking for individuals interested in becoming involved with an exciting arts organization. You will work with a team of international arts administrators, and participate in an organization that makes a real difference in the life of young dancers from all over the world. For those with a background in dance, arts administration and business administration this is a particularly interesting and educational experience.
We are looking for time commitments of 5-10 or 15-20 hours/week. Unfortunately there is no financial compensation for these internships. However, school credit can be arranged.
NYIBC has the following internship positions available for the Spring, Summer and Fall ( may be either a semester or a year in length):
Development Associate- Responsibilities include:
• Assist in building a grant calendar
• Research on grants and donors
• Assist in developing a fundraising plan
• Assist creating fundraising letters and campaigns
• Assist in donor and patron management
• Maintain the donor database
• Develop relationships with corporate sponsors and foundations
• (S)he will work closely with the Executive/Associate Director
Alumni Relations Coordinator- Responsibilities include:
• Research the current professional where-abouts and affiliations of former NYIBC participants since 1984.
• Create a data base with their personal and professional information
• Contact alumni for testimonials of their experiences in the competition
• Assist in creating a web page and newsletter
• Data entry and assist with database management
• (S)he will work closely with the Executive/Associate Director
Marketing/Communications Associate- Responsibilities inlude:
• Update and expand the use of Facebook for marketing & PR
• Develop Twitter as a marketing and communications tool
• Assist in the developing ideas for website updates and maintenance
• Assis the web designer wherever possible
• Assist in creating a newsletter/E-blasts
• Manage press/media relations
• (S) he will work closely with the Executive/Associate Director
Office Manager Internship- Responsibilities include:
• Daily bank deposits, credit card processing of gifts
• Writing checks, accounting in Quickbooks
• Office reconciliation
• Respond to email and Facebook inquiries
• Set up staff meetings, write minutes
• Order/buy supplies, online and in person
• File maintenance and organization
• Problem solving regarding computers, email, etc.
• (S)he will work closely with the Executive/Associate Director
